It’s funny how you can see many people ask this question in their head while they’re listening to us talk about our trip.

To take off on an adventure into the unknown for a year with your family is no small challenge!  To take your kids out of school with confidence that it will not adversely affect their development is also no small consideration.  And to head into the wide world of business in the United States with no more contacts than fingers on your left hand, now that is a real step of faith!

And for us it’s the step of faith that is the real motivator behind our Family Adventure.

Sure, we had a particularly tough year in 2008, (even worse than 2007!), and the “safe” option would be to find a secure job on an okay package and settle into digging ourselves out of the hole that we find ourselves in.  After all, a year travelling with no fixed employment is going to cost a lot of money, isn’t it?  Well my friends, I’ve decided that if money was the only motivator behind the decisions we make then life has truly become empty.

So it’s with a real conviction of faith that we step into 2009.  The plans are made, you can check them out here and watch the Events Calendar on the home page.  We feel that God has allowed us to travel and, with that, comes opportunities that He will present to us… so we watch and wait expectantly.

Our aim is to grow closer as a family.  Our aim is to explore places we do not know and build memories that will last a lifetime.  Our aim is to build contacts around the world that will help us to achieve other goals.  And our aim is also for each of us to grow more in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Oh yeah, and we aim to have fun - loads of fun!
