So here’s the plan… we are off on a Family Adventure for a year.  The 2009 travelling roadshow for the Strong Family.  Mum and Dad, (Phil and Kathy) are taking Jackson, 10, and Grace, 8, off on an adventure. 

We are heading to the States first of all, for 6 months… you can follow our whereabouts as we post new reports of our adventures.  And then we head to Europe to escape for a few weeks, I’m sure Kathy will write about the sunshine in the Greek Islands.  And then it’s back to Florida for some time near the white sand of Destin Beach.

Follow us and comment on all that we say and do.  Watch for the videos and photos.

We leave Auckland for Los Angeles.

Fly from Los Angeles to Boise, Idaho

We will hang here for approximately 4 months… not sure what we’ll be doing… only time will tell.

6 July 2009
Head off on a 5 week road trip - over 3600 miles across North America.

We aim to take in Salt lake City, Denver, South Dakota, Elk River (Minnesota), Chicago, Indianapolis, Georgia.
We will end up in Destin Florida, that’s in the Northwest of Florida, (top left if you’re looking at a map!)

You will be able to follow our road trip on Google maps.

Early August 2009
Hang in Florida for 3 weeks.

Fly from Florida to London
Hang out in London for 3 days - what is there to see there?

22 August 2009
Fly from to London to Dublin
There Phil will introduce the family to Guiness!

25 August 2009
Fly back to London.  Board the train and head under the Channel to Paris.
Wander through the sights of Paris for 3 days.

28 August 2009
Depart Paris on the train and head south arriving in Venice, Italy the next day.

30 August 2009
Leave Venice on a rather large ship with a few thousand other passengers.
We’ll be cruising for 8 days through the Greek Islands and visiting a few remote ports along the way.

6 September 2009
Arrive back at Venice, pick up a car for 13 days and head south.
We aim to trip around the coast of Italy (clockwise) and spend a few days in Rome before relaxing in Tuscany.
In Tuscany we’ve rented a villa and will just hang with the locals for a week.
Rumour has it the local wine, bread and cheese are all fantastic!

19 September 2009
Head off on the train from Florence to Zurich Switzerland.
Chill out in the Swiss Autumn weather.

21 September 2009
Travel from Zuich up to Frankfurt, Germany.
Sausages and beer for lunch for a few days.

23 September 2009
Travel from Frankfurt up to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Here our goal is to find the village where Kathy’s Dad was born.
We want to show the kids some of their heritage and see where their Grandfather grew up.

27 September 2009
Fly through London back to Miami and then on to Destin, Florida.

We’ll hang out in Florida with the locals for 4 months, enjoying the white sand and glorious sunshine.

Christmas 2009
Our goal is to save some money to be able to have a white Christmas in Canada.
If we manage to make it north, we’ll also take in New Years Eve ay New York.
(Jason and Megan we’ll see you there!)
